Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from ACTH (4-10) that upregulates BDNF and related neurotrophic factors, enhances dopaminergic and serotonergic pathways, provides neuroprotection through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, improves cerebral blood flow and oxygen utilization, and does not stimulate cortisol release unlike native ACTH.
