Melanotan II is a synthetic analog of alpha-MSH that binds to melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, MC5R). MC1R activation stimulates melanogenesis for tanning, MC4R activation in the hypothalamus enhances libido and erectile function, MC3R modulation affects appetite and energy balance.
