KPV is a C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-MSH that inhibits NF-κB activation, reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α), modulates gut microbiome, strengthens intestinal barrier function, and provides antimicrobial effects against various pathogens including bacteria and fungi.
