Ipamorelin is a selective pentapeptide ghrelin receptor agonist (GHRP) that binds to GHSR-1a receptors, triggering pulsatile growth hormone release from the pituitary without significantly affecting cortisol or prolactin. It enhances cAMP production, activates protein kinase A, stimulates GHRH neurons, and directly activates somatotroph cells, leading to increased IGF-1 production.
