ARA-290 (Cibinetide) is an 11-amino acid peptide derived from erythropoietin (EPO) that selectively activates the innate repair receptor (IRR), a heterodimer of EPO receptor and CD131/β-common receptor. Unlike EPO, it does not stimulate erythropoiesis or increase red blood cell production. It promotes tissue protection, reduces inflammation via NF-κB pathway modulation, stimulates neural regeneration, and activates endogenous repair mechanisms without the thrombotic risks of EPO.
