Mechanism of Action

AHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide that stimulates hair follicle growth through activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which is essential for hair follicle stem cell activation and hair cycle initiation. It upregulates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in dermal papilla cells, enhances proliferation of hair follicle cells, promotes the transition from telogen (resting) to anagen (growth) phase, and provides antioxidant protection to follicular cells. Unlike GHK-Cu, AHK-Cu shows higher specificity for hair follicle targets.
